Unit 2 - Upstairs
The upstairs unit is totally seperate to the downstairs
unit. They both have private entrances and entertaining areas
on opposite sides of the house so it is very private. The entrance
to upstairs is on the left side of the house (past the car port)
and the entrance to downstairs is on the right side of the house,
past the pergola. The only thing you share with people staying
in the other unit is the front and back yards and possibly the
double car port.
The upstairs unit is more 'open plan' than downstairs,
with one huge room combining the kitchen, lounge room, and dining
The unit sleeps up to 5 people and has the following
Bedroom 1 - Queen size bed plus large mirrored built-in
wardrobe and two bed side tables with drawers and bed side lamps.
Bedroom 2 - Two single beds plus large mirrored built-in wardrobe
and two bed side tables with drawers and bed side lamps.
Bedroom 3 - One single bed plus overhead cupboard with shelving
The bathroom has a full size bath with shower above
it. There is a toilet and vanity with large mirror. There is a
large washing machine in the bathroom so the bathroom doubles
as a laundry.
It is a large kitchen which includes plenty of crockery, cutlery,
cooking utensils. Includes fridge/freezer, gas stove, gas oven,
large sink and draining board, kettle, and microwave.
The dining room is part of the large open plan living area and
has a round table with 4 chairs.
The lounge room is part of the large living area
and includes 2 lounges.
Also included is an entertainment system with LED TV,
DVD player, and stereo.
The lounge room is very bright, open and airy and
opens out to a small balcony with a glass table and 2 chairs.
All windows have internal vertical blinds and external ajustable
awnings that are lowered in summer to keep the unit cool. For
the extra hot days (it gets up to about 44 degrees celcius on
some days) there is an air-conditioner on the lounge wall.
For the winter months, the unit is fully insulated
and the air-conditioner doubles as a heater.
As mentioned above, the bathroom doubles as a laundry,
with a large family sized washing machine.
The outdoor balcony opens from the lounge room, with a glass table and 2 chairs. Great for relaxing with the Sunday paper or having a wine while watching the sun set!
Private Outdoor Area with BBQ
In addition to the balcony, the left side of the house is reserved for the people
staying upstairs in unit 2. It is fully under shelter and paved,
with a gas barbeque, glass table and 6 chairs. The area includes a small
gold fish pond with waterfall. The pond is covered with a wire
mesh frame as a safety precaution for small children.
The front yard is fully fenced and has a lawn and
a garden which is fully maintained by a professional gardener.
It is a 'common area' which is shared between anyone staying at
the property (both units). It's a great spot for children to play
and this is one of the major benefits of not staying in the inner
city in an apartment building.
The back yard is fully fenced and is also a great
place for the children to play. It has two washing lines (one
for each unit) joined to the back wall of the house.
There is a double carport which is available for
off-street parking. Please note that off-street parking is an
optional extra ($20/week) and it is a very tight fit for two large
vehicles (like 4 wheel drives or large vans).
The property has WIFI (wireless) internet access, so if you have
a laptop that is WIFI enabled (as most modern laptops are), you
will be able to access the internet either inside the house or
outside in the yard. The prices are AU$20/week or AU$50/month.
Linen is included (bedding, sheets, pillowcases, towels, bathroom mat, kitchen tea towels etc).
The owners (Nick & Janelle) live nearby and
are available on their mobile phone if you ever have any questions,
including if you want to know the best places to visit, how to
find your way around, what to do in Sydney, etc.
